چکیده

LONG-TERM GOALS Goals for this project include: 1) the characterization of ocean acoustic impulse response (OAIR) in shallow water under various environmental conditions, 2) the development of predictive and synoptic methodologies/models linking acoustic communications system (modem) performance to environmental factors. Ultimately this information can be used to develop a robust acoustic modem design that can operate in the widest variety of environmental conditions or that can utilize a strategy of selectively moving to “best” locations to establish optimum point-to-point data communications. Based on the data acquired, a test-bed approach for improving undersea digital communications is expected.

Attack Simulation Model and Channel Statistics in Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks

In recent years, underwater acoustic wireless sensor networks have been used in many areas. There have been many field trials of acoustic propagation models and statistics for shallow water conditions. However, field trials are limited environmentally and, hence, not widely accepted. Simulations of the impulse response of a shallow underwater acoustic channel allows less expensive system tests ...

Shallow-Water Acoustic Communications Channel Modeling Using Three-Dimensional Gaussian Beams

Recent progress in the development of a physics-based numerical propagation model for the virtual transmission of acoustic communication signals in shallow water is presented. The ultimate objective is to provide for the prediction of the output of the quadrature detector (QD, an analog of the discrete Fourier transform) in a time-variant, doubly dispersive, shallow-water channel. Current model...

Towards a Multiple Station High Frequency Shallow Water Acoustic Tomography System

Acoustic Tomography System, " a thesis by Justin Michael Eickmeier. Abstract Title: Acoustic tomography studies have traditionally been conducted in deep water, implementing high power, low frequency pulses transmitted over long distances to map large scale current events. Conducting acoustic tomography in a shallow water environment using high frequency low power pulses represents both unique ...

Acoustic Seabed Classification using Fractional Fourier Transform

In this paper we present a time-frequency approach for acoustic seabed classification. Work reported is based on sonar data collected by the Volume Search Sonar (VSS), one of the five sonar systems in the AN/AQS-20. The Volume Search Sonar is a beamformed multibeam sonar system with 27 fore and 27 aft beams, covering almost the entire water volume (from above horizontal, through vertical, back ...

Discrimination of Golab apple storage time using acoustic impulse response and LDA and QDA discriminant analysis techniques

ABSTRACT- Firmness is one of the most important quality indicators for apple fruits, which is highly correlated with the storage time. The acoustic impulse response technique is one of the most commonly used nondestructive detection methods for evaluating apple firmness. This paper presents a non-destructive method for classification of Iranian apple (Malus domestica Borkh. cv. Golab) according...
